There’s a lot of ways to feed cattle. Don’t see a lot of oats and peas, hay, sorghum sudangrass etc anymore. Not because they’re not cost effective, but because they’re not heavily subsidized and insured.
I don’t see a lot of tillable ground going back to permanent pasture, but I think more diverse rotations, with some grazing mixed in there would be the cost effective way to make it happen.
But with our current farm programs, it won’t.
