Mid MO | I'd clear it and run cows over it. If you can't afford the cows right now, I'd partner with somebody or buy thin p1's and sell as p-3's later. Feed bales over the most infertile areas, mow it next year real high, and you'll have good grass, plus a little cow income. We all know this market is going to fall out of bed sometime, I wouldn't be eager to take out a loan or invest in long term cows. I'd stick with quick and dirty turns and avoid interest.
'Here' if you can get the grass tied up, you'll have no problem getting somebody to put their cows on it. Finding grass is the pinch. Fescue sod with red clover is the norm. Hay is running 25-45/bale. Ymmv | |
