Subject: RE: Rebuilding the US cow herd.

I guess I'm an old timer? I grew up on a dairy and there were probably 50 or more dairy in my area and every farmer had pigs chickens and beef cows. I drove around a few weeks ago and saw so much missed opportunity for someone to have a few cows here and there it's unreal. Much grass wasted. The small grain guys that don't want cows aren't going to be able to rent their winter wheat or rye to the feeders and Mexican cattle either this year. There are economical methods to run double the cows and use the summer grass while it is the best and just feed for a few months also. Most guys just don't know how anymore but you can learn and the opportunity is great.
