Amen. Many see running livestock as "beneath them".
And maybe going broke will free up some land for pasture & forage production. Or it would, if the rowcrop lobby weren't so politically powerful: they'll threaten the destruction to "mainstreet" businesses (due to some crop farmers going out of business) and whine for a bailout to continue skewing land use toward grain production...as if piling corn in huge piles in the streets--production supported by taxpayers--was a birthright. |
