Not a typical place for a predator to start.
I had a 3 or 4 day old calf lay down by a pipe gate that was open but not chained and it's mother came along and rubbed on the gate enough to move it over the calf. When I found it the gate had cut a 2" hole in the calf's hip like a cookie cutter. The calf survived but had a deep scar.
