SW MO | I was on a trip in college with a group in the ag department and our old Ag Business professor was the sponsor. He sat next to me one day on a bus tour and this got brought up. He said he boarded a plane once and sat next to a non farm or ag related person who asked him if the farm subsidies actually worked. Our professor told me that he had never been asked that before so he had to think on it for a minute. He responded with a question to the other person; Have you ever been in a grocery store in America that had completely bare shelves? The person said no, our professor replied; Well I guess the farm subsidies work then. | |
