Subject: RE: a case for expanding crp

Mid-Michigan
I agree. However, I've had some crp, filters strips etc. For 30 years )or about). I think they have done some good on our farm. I know everyone hates wildlife, but i don't. Im trying to save the last two pheasants in our county. I think the filter strips have kept my ditches from filling in (drainage for me is probably my number one farming concept I have). They also keep my fertilizer where I want it. As far as production? I don't care. I will survive with 1.90 corn and 5 soys, 3 wheat. Yes sodsucker, I'm still licking windows (whatever that is). I honestly can't see our markets improving for a couple of years and lots of farmers are going to go broke unless we get welfare from the government. I hope the taxpayers revolt. Food prices are staying high no matter how much the government gives us.
