NW Wisconsin | We inherited a parcel that was given to 3 of us. In a business deal, my brother gave us his 1/3 in exchange for a cash settlement. That meant we owned 2/3 of an 81 acre parcel and my sister owned the other 1/3. We had it surveyed and made sure the value was fair so she got a little more than a 1/3, but it sure solved the headache from joint ownership.
