Farmland, IN | I have hog barns and I have enough of my own ground to take care of the manure, but only 120 acres is next to the barns, so I have to cross my neighbor, who I'm friends with, to get to a good chunk of my other fields. I let him have 80 acres worth of manure at 6500 GPA in exchange for crossing his fields with a drag line. He pays for 100% of the application cost on his acres. Its a good value for him based on my analysis, but I want him to remain happy because it would cost me double to haul it around the road, not to mention the extra compaction from tanks on the field.
