Subject: RE: Chickens at the elevator

Mid-Michigan
Right or wrong, I stick with my 3 crop rotation. I won't change my fertilizer program. I will survive with markets well below the current (i still think corn is going below 250, beans in the 5s and wheat around 4). Ive spent and somewhat prepared for this. I farm with farely well worn equipment but certainly big enough and well maintained. I have no equipment payments. I have no exuberant rent. I did spend $850,000 on a grain setup 2 years ago. That payment is coming. I've bid on lots of ground within 5 miles of me in the last 5 years. Haven't been anywhere close. The way things are going, I may have a chance to buy a little more )i don't want much more) at my price like I did in 1985. We will see. I can't stand bidding on something that I can't figure out how I can pay for it.
