Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I think the above very well sums up your situation. Having a mixed "fleet" of some InCommands and an Integra with the cable considerations is certainly possible but I would think that moving an InCommand to the combine for harvest or having "enough" InCommands would be more desirable.

In my own personal situation, I started with a YM2000, then a PF3000 and then an Insight. For a bit I had two Insights but later added an Integra in the planting tractor. Due to trade-up programs I now have 3 InCommand 1200's, two GPS 6500's on WAAS and a GPS 7500 unlocked and subscribed to TerraStar Pro C. The InCommands all have the multi-product unlock although this is only needed for the planter. This give me a great deal of freedom. The displays are used in 3 different tractors, a Hagie sprayer and the 9770 combine.

I can move the InCommands and the GPS receivers around in various combinations as the need arises. All vehicles have the display and GPS wiring permanently installed. All displays use a RAM mount system to hold the displays. This means moving an InCommand and a GPS around is very easy and quick.

One InCommand might be considered our "Master". It and the GPS 7500 are moved from the planting tractor to the Hagie sprayer and then to the combine through the seasons. This works fine for us since those operations do not overlap in our situation.

The Planting tractor uses Steer Command Z2 through that tractor's CAN system for steering. The Hagie has no assisted or auto steer but the InCommand handles the spraying duties. The Master InCommand and GPS 7500 are moved to the combine for harvest although the accuracy of one of the GPS 6500's would be adequate. We do not do any Fall planting but may use the planting tractor for some tillage.

I do have Ag Leader's Steady Steer assisted steering in the combine. The Steady Steer ECU "lives" there permanently. It is used to steer the combine in soybeans. More recently I added a feeler system (Truesight 2 from the Headsight folks) to the combine. Its ECU takes inputs from the feelers, combine wheel position sensor etc. to control the Steady Steer motor. To switch from soybean steering based on AB lines to corn steering based on the feelers requires unplugging and moving two connectors. This may seem confusing but works very well.

I originally used the combine with a display cable from an Insight. This required the adapter you mention to work with the InCommand 1200. When I added the Truesight 2 ECU, it needed an ISO connector to work with the InCommand 1200. The old Insight cable did not have an ISO branch so this required removing the Insight display cable and adapter and replacing it with a current InCommand 1200 display cable which has plugs for the InCommand 1200 and also the ISO branch.

Again you have many options but I think having the proper cables and leaving them in the various vehicles and moving the displays and GPS units as needed would be a viable option unless you need several displays at the same time. Since you mention Fall planting this might require more displays.
