Minnesota | 5000 gal doesn't mean anything unless you know the nutrient value. That could be way more nutrients than you need OR it could be not enough....it all depends on the source of the manure.
Secondly, if you are going to use it as your nutrient source, you need to be sure that they are going to do a decent job of application and have the capability to get it applied evenly.
We grow corn in MN with manure and very little supplemental fertilizer. However, we have very careful applicators that do a good job getting it applied. We take A LOT of samples as we go and will occasionally get a low sample and need to supplement the fertility.
You could consider some type of arrangement where you share the cost of application and then pay something for the nutrients applied. | |
