| First, your quote of what he ACTUALLY said was wrong. His quote:
“You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry, and you won't have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It's drivel. But I am - I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.”
Second, let’s go with your “quote”. It doesn’t mean he is pro gun violence. He is pro 2nd amendment and freedom but is not pro gun violence. Let me give you two examples of your logic fallacy.
Say you don’t want kids, don’t care for kids, are anti kids. But, you are pro sex. So, you have sex using every prophylactic safety measure you can but realize that sometimes things happen and a kid comes from that. You are pro sex and engage and a kid comes along because of that. That doesn’t change you and make you pro kids. You are still not pro kids but you were and are still pro sex.
How about if you are not pro carbon and are anti intentionally releasing carbon into the atmosphere? But, you are pro tillage because it helps warm the soil and helps bury weed seed so your herbicide works better. You realize tillage is good and needed in your situation but a side effect is release of carbon. You aren’t pro carbon still but it could possibly happen because you are pro tillage and need that. The fact you till and are pro tillage doesn’t change you to be pro carbon release. | |
