 West Kentucky | It is obviously different for all parts of the country depending on disease pressures and so much more. I would say almost exactly the opposite of what U of I says has been true for us. In the short term, it doesn't always pay for fungicide and hired application cost. Comparing the average long term, it has easily paid us to own a high clearance sprayer and spray fungicides. Since we own the high clearance sprayer, even in the short term fungicide almost always pays with some years being big. Fungicide generally pays its own way, it is the cost of spraying that can be difficult if hiring it done here.
