This winter we restored this Singer model 27 sewing machine. According to the serial number it was made in NY in 1879. It's a treadle. New leather belt. Works well now. It is a true wonder to watch it work. The craftmanship in building it amazed me everytime I removed a part and cleaned it. Rebuilt the "coffin top" and refinished the wood. Had the cast iron leg work sandblasted at the local auto body repair.
