scmn | Seems like the May/June seedlings alfalfa struggles to compete with weeds while June/July it can burn up easily. Get too far into Sept and you might not get enough growth and roots established before frost while March often freeze off new seedlings. Hence the old wives tale/recommendation of April/August or seed in months beginning with 'A' like in the Alfalfa. | |
