Subject: RE: Troubleshooting Trimble AG382

East Central, Nebraska
i have not dealt with a 382 but once or twice ever and that was back when they came out in an agco vehicle which of i cannot remember and that time i am certain i plugged a laptop in to configure it if i recall correctly. anyhow, i have dealt with a 372 several hundred times and at one time had all the menus memorized. point being my advice may be worthless for the 382 but on a 372 the way i would handle that situation is plug a laptop into it to try and diagnose that way. are you now using a laptop or vehicle display? if so which display?

on a laptop that should enable you to mess with baud rates to start communicating with it. if you were able to get into it then i would reset it and start over. its possible that an older device such as a 252 was using a way lower baud rate then how this was configured to communicate with the likely much newer vehicle your using it on.

on a side note if someone told me to find a replacement that would make me furious. surely someone would repair a fairly new device such as that.

tell us more and maybe we can help.
