First year I have weighed an ear. 16x38 and was 14.4 Oz at 34k pop. Not quite black layered. What will it yield?
If that's ear weight you probably have 12oz of grain. Assuming 40% moisture that's 321 bu/ac at 15%. If you truly have 34k ears and that ear represents an average ear you have a big crop coming. I typically take 5 ears, taking every 5th ear, seems to give a better representation of the area. |
