I wish it were that easy.

Here’s the issue with that.

12 bag guy who is 30 miles away from the dealer expects free delivery, SWAG,, appreciation meal and two visits a year out side of sales and delivery then sends 4 bags back(in the end of July preferably) that he expects the dealer to pick up but wants the same price as the guy who bought 12 boxes of seed 10miles away who expects the same level of service but doesn’t return anything and even breaks down the boxes when the dealer comes to get them?

There isn’t enough margin in seed sales to have a customer like the first guy if that’s his whole order but if you don’t sell to someone like that you’re the bad guy.

Exactly. It actually costs money to sell to some customers. Not totally dependent on size of order either. A lot of smaller farmers are awesome to work with.

I too wish seed companies would stop playing games. Just sell the seed at best price possible. Give an early pay/order discount and a volume discount and that's it. I can buy any item or trip I want on my own dime. I despise the throw money at a new customer plan. Instead, throw money at a new hybrid or variety for anyone willing to try it, old or new customer.
