North of London | I don't following silage timing but neighbours must have all their silage chopped as they were going hard at it last week.
May have a little left to do as A. was here on Saturday and said they had to shut down on Sunday because help had other commitments so they would not be able to keep chopping on Sunday.
Think they must have 120 or more hectare chopped now.
I was down to Windsor area a couple weeks ago and saw fields that were very uneven with corn dried to tassel in places and still green in other places. I expect that was because of our dry weather and different soil types.
Good luck with your silage. The recent rain will make field conditions a little poorer now. | |
