
| Indianajones - 9/22/2025 12:31 Last year a neighbor hired a chopper to spray fungicide on his corn. I drove by jus to check it out as he landed on the truck to refill. The air was so heavy with chem smell, it literally gagged me in the car. I believe the chopper guys believe the air churned up by the rotors is enough to cover the extra area but clearly is not. In contrast, the plane that sprayed at my house, the smell was negligible when I was outside when he was spraying. INDY
That is NOT how it works. The whirling eggbeater of death effect is only when you are standing next to a helo in takeoff/transition. At cruising speeds, it's a rotary winged aircraft and that is all. Not a vertical auger screwing air towards the ground. |
