coast of Maine
I have been reading and learning a lot of the moons influence on our weather. The moon as most know causes massive tides (18 ft) in parts of Maine and Canada.I did learn that land tides also occur during full moons, lifts of 1 CM of the land all over the world as the moon cycles thru. The air temp at the N pole is 1 degree F higher during a full moon, this I did not know but the polar bears may not need suntan oil,,.There are also atmospheric tides, gaseous but it does pull on air masses, this pull can move massive amounts of gases but hard to quantify..The full moon most often will accompany /cause ? a clear high pressure system,,these lead to clear calm COLDER nights than a cloudy calm night. The air drainage and air damming that occurs in coastal states also influences the weather. There also is evidence of a slight bit more rain on avg following a full moon event in the USA.But as we all know now the moon really does influence the weather and many peoples moods,,How IDK but as a wild teen it was always a bad/fun night back then.Enjoy the next full moon phase and let us know if you feel wonky...hehehhe
