We consult on 30ish thousand acres in SW MN and write recs on existing samples for $1.50 per acre, $1 per acre if we are the ones that did the original sampling. I know they offer a lot of great features on vrafy, but it's nothing that you can't find for a better price regionally, and the service will be as good or better.
I can't speak for everyone, but we also do high resolution NDVI drone imagery, and it's not expensive, and its better quality than the satellite imagery I get from the software company we map and write recs through.
If a grower really wants to pull their own samples and write their own recs then the mid-tier subscription seems like a great tool, and I would definitely recommend it, although FarmQA or FieldAlytics would both be exceptional as well and cheaper. But if you are wanting to work with an agronomist anyway why not just hire one to sample everything for $9-10 and get recs with it, it's very easy to incorporate yield removal data into the recs if desired. | |
