IA/MN/WI | There is a high likelyhood that you are experiencing Manganese toxicity. Mn is extremely mobile at low pH and a soil test level of even 20ppm can show toxicity in pHs similar to yours, seeing a test over 40ppm practically guarantee's that it is a contributing factor killing your corn. Your pH likely moved up as soil temps warmed and it reduced the toxicity for the crop.
Apply a minimum of 2 or 3 tons of lime, I'd source some beet lime if you can, but ag lime would be fine as well since your Mg is low. Retest those spots in 2 yrs and apply lime again if needed.
As others have said, put a couple ton of chicken or turkey litter on those spots as well if you've got the money. But 100% get lime on them, your fertility levels are pretty decent so you should have a nice crop there(assuming you get adequate rain) once you get that pH sorted. | |
