Was 'unhappy' the correct word or typo?

I'm way south of you but there would be a big carbon penalty that you probably wouldn't be able to overcome here.  I know you said clover but my experience is you can't get much out of it. at least consistently, if double cropped.  Water holding capacity of our high clay soils and spring monsoon season is just too much to ever really get a corn crop going in the right direction if trying to plant in the 'normal' planting window.  Late planted corn, like 1st of June, is a different matter as it seems biology of the system is starting to process things, plus more heat, longer days, bigger gaps in rainfall etc.  

How that would extrapolate to your location not sure but maybe there is something here that is helpful.
