Southeast WI | Surely you jest. I don't get out much? I live in SE WI. I crop farm, I crop consult, we run almost daily into Milwaukee, Madison and points in-between for 6 weeks this time of year delivering squash, pumpkins and all kinds of ornamental products. We have a retail stand on the farm and interact with dozens of people per day when we are home to man the mostly self serve stand. If my wife is not here people will use cash, however venmo and zelle are used extensively. When tracey is here a common question is do you take cc's. Observations over the years has shown people will spend significantly more when the transaction is non cash.
We enjoy living in what is mostly country yet and are proud of what we do for a living here being surrounded by urbanites. So yes, we get out and understand how the world works for the masses. Not the myopic NAT echo chamber of "this is how the world works".
