Nascar runs less miles between engine rebuilds than most cars get between oil changes.
Nascar runs thin oils for the same reason that car companies spec thin oils. Thick oils rob power. NASCAR doesn’t want to lose power. Car companies don’t want to be robbed of mileage for CAFE ratings.
