S.C. Wisconsin
I follow the Oil Geeks advice who has a lot of information on Youtube. He recommends following the manufactures recommendations, In Nascar racing engines they use very thin oils. But the machining on the engine build has to be almost perfect. It seems that the problems with GM's L87 bearing problems stem from poor machining on the engine components. If the machining is subpar then you need heavier oil. It seems GM's answer to the heavier oil is a band aid for a cheap fix to cover up for their poor machine work. I use 0w 16 in my Rav4 which is what the manufacture specs.
