Yeah, Chips always had a live band on weekends upstairs, and a DJ downstairs, both with dance floors. This place drew kids from a wide area, drinking age was 18 back then. I don’t know what 18 year olds do for fun today on weekends. My folks went out a lot also, lots of ballrooms in the area, The Terp in Austin, and Matters in Decorah were both very popular, with the older crowd.
