I'm not buying heavier oil would take out a cam. Polaris has had a problem with some of their engines with the relief valve sticking shut in the oil pump causing high oil pressure. The oil pressure can get so high that it causes the lifters to float the valves. That might put a little more pressure on the cam lobes.
0 - 20 oil. in new engines
