I’ve not ended but I have declined to do business with friends based on the fact that I was happy with who I am doing business with and didn’t really want another supplier. If there’s a reason to stop based on price, service, support, not as good as competitor, etc. than it should be no problem and they should understand if there’s are a good business person.
