East of Broken Bow | 1) It is on record that Valerie Jarret (the subject of the mean tweet) was in contact with Iger (the network President) between when Roseanne made the tweet, and her show being cancelled.
As to the other differences:
Roseanne tweeted an insult to Jarett on her private, personal computer, to her personal social media account. The instant reaction was that Roseanne had tweeted something 'racist', although she says she was not aware Jarett was black when she posted the tweet. If you were to google pictures of Jarett, I can believe Roseanne woudn't realize she identified as black based on her appearance. Roseanne's insult was clearly an opinion, as she said that Jarett 'looked like' (insert insult here)
Googled pictures of Jarett. Would the average person expect her to be black?

Kimmel broadcast a false narrative regarding a major historical event or major crime. That is against FCC rules. Kimmel spread this false narrative on the air during his show's commentary segment, (not on his private time on his private computer on his private account like Roseanne did). This gnot not just him, but ABC in hot water due to the oforementioned FCC rules that regulate programming over the airwaves. Note that the FCC (and its rules) do not apply to things not broadcast over public airwaves (examples would be the internet - what Roseanne used-, cable TV, etc.)
Likd to FCC rule on their official website.

So yes, there are diffences, major differences actually.
Roseanne has made the claim that Obama had been in contact with Iger (the network President at the time of her cancellation) but I can only find official confirmation of communication between Jarret and Iger.
