I went to an audiologist a few years ago and got a set.
They did help me hear better if there wasn’t background noise. If there was background noise forget it.
I haven’t wore them in some time because I don’t like my phone calls going through them and don’t know how to get rid of that feature. I also don’t like how it amplifies loud noises I’m around like when I’m mixing feed walking past the tractor.
If I wear ear muffs over them while doing it it makes them uncomfortable since it pushes them into my head.
I don’t know what the answer is. My family is frustrated as well and I can understand why. That said when they get frustrated about my hearing it’s like being mad at someone in a wheelchair not able to walk up stairs.
You need to get some better hearing aids and maybe a different audiologist, and then make up your mind to wear them and make them work.
I don't like the phone routed through my hearing aids either, so I turned off that option.
My newest hearing aids are significantly improved in noisy situations, and I can also adjust their response using the hearing aid app on my cell phone. |
