| Hey everyone,
I’m new to the tree fruit world here in Central Washington and I'm trying to learn from the experts.
I’m learning that some decisions are locked in by logistics and weather, while others have more flexibility. I'm especially interested in how you handle those moments where you have a real choice that can impact your bottom line.
For those of you with experience (any scale):
• When it comes to buying your big-ticket inputs for the season (like fuel or fertilizer), how do you decide when to pull the trigger to get the best price?
• For crops you have in storage, what's your process for timing the sale? How do you know when the market is hitting a sweet spot?
• Have you ever missed a key window on one of these types of decisions and wished you’d had a clear, simple heads-up?
I’d really appreciate any stories or lessons learned. I’m trying to understand the real-world challenges behind these crucial decisions.
Thanks so much for sharing. | |
