South Central Illinois | Five years ago,
In October,
Major wind storm,
70+ year old gentleman named Bill,
Running a 9600 Combine,
Driving into the wind,
Laying down a stream of fire behind the Combine originating in the feeder house,
He turned around on the south end,
All of a sudden, the wind was blowing the fire into the Combine.
He took a flying leap off of the platform.
Broke a few bones in the process.
Fuel tank exploded moments later,
He got burned really bad,
He did survive!
This was in the Altamont area.
Fire spread for about 5 miles north.
Eventually, it was contained.
Don’t recall any structures burning.
I think Combine is still in the field.
