Most places that you don't get charged more for using a card at don't offer a discount for handing them cash either. Its the same price. They get to keep the little extra 3^ percent for a bonus.
I payoff my card monthly without interest or penalties. Its handy not carrying cash or change back home but everything has its costs.. And then there is the stupid "credit card points" schemes you miss out on too.(I could care less about points crap, but its a real thing)
