Subject: Fall Armyworms are really bad in alfalfa

Central NE

I drove to Lincoln county in central Kansas tuesday and the last cutting of alfalfa was under attack by fall armyworms some fields stripped of all leaves, some looked like they were dying.  even ditches of grass and some pastures looked like they were sprayed with roundup in places.  They have had alot of rain lately.

Then I came home to Buffalo county Nebraska in central NE and scouted my fifth cutting.  They are bad here too.  its been raining, so i had to wait, but the plane comes in the morning to spray.  Ive never had to spray for bugs in the fall in thirty years of raising alfalfa here.

Check your fields!  What are you seeing?
