| Because it sells. Unfortunately it is human nature to collectively gravitate towards the negative and controversial rather than towards goodness and wholesomeness. It takes more effort to choose positive and good than it does to choose negative and bad.
Unfortunately most of us choose the easy way rather than the harder path. A sign of that is the number of views of any thread on here. In general the more controversial and argumentative the topic, the higher the number of posts and views.
