Had a 706 do the same thing. It was the rubber from pump would plug the return at the bottom of tank. I put a inline filter on that line that ended that issue. I did have the pump redone several years later still left the filter on it. Had to blow air thru the line to unplug it, before I put filter on.
also chec you fill cap vent they can cause problem...
