southern MN
What was the tillage tool?

My 10 acres of oats doesn’t account for much, but I found a very small window to swath it, combine it, and bale it. Only got 3 rains on it, 2 were quite light. Was lightening as I finished swathing it, and was lightening and dripping as I finished combining it. Straw was damp combining it, but the heads were dry. Needed to rake it to dry the straw but it came out pretty good.

Would like to cut and bale the oats regrowth and cover crop alfalfa clover mix, but that’s been impossible since.

Had a 4 day window to bale 100 small squares of grass hay yesterday, was 20-30% chance of rain 2 of those days but got lucky for a change - high humidity so a legume wouldn’t have dried enough, the grass was just good enough for small squares.

Quite the year.

Paul
