Wisconsin | First, have to get rid of the water. The most practical way I've found is air bubbling. Pumping filtered air through the oil will dry it out, faster if the oil or air is hot. If the transmission case is colder than the dew point, then the water will condense and just fall back in the oil, unless it's really dry weather, under 50% RH. You can also drain the oil, boil it or bubble it dry, then refill. Either will have to be repeated because you won't get all the oil out or dry with each repetition. | |
