You have the blade backwards in the photo, it should cut on the downstroke. I bet you're just missing the blade clamps, and a normal scroll saw blade would fit. Maybe try a washer to clamp a scroll saw blade in? For value, not much, there's more of them floating around than there is demand, at least around here.
