| I have posted my historical experience with Tar Spot, but frankly haven’t seen Southern since the early 80’s in NE Iowa, at least not this bad.
My plan is to spray 2x with Miravis Neo. It lasts the longest and what the crop scouts replications show is that it is the only fungicide that has a consistently positive income response every year.
Simply having standing corn at harvest is a huge deal and I wouldn’t consider spraying 1x.
Look at the seed corn fields. Most of them are sprayed 4 times with fungicide in a year like this. Drove by a grandparent plot yesterday. It’s very green and the soybeans and commercial corn within a mile is dead. I want to be the last man standing. It may cost LP, but it appears to be a positive response.
I am anticipating yields down from last year and my 3 year average, but likely above my actual 10 year history. This isn’t a corn crop that I intend to hold from 25 to 27. If I do, it will be on paper. | |
