Subject: RE: Last of my cover crop going in

Mid-Michigan
I got interested in soil testing at multiple depths. I found a tremendous difference in nutrient availability at different depths (which is understandable). I have been trying to flip my dirt over every seven years. My soil tests have been improving as have my organic matter (pretty slow on the organic matter). Plowing certainly has not has a negative affect on my organic matter. Ph has also improved at 4 inches also. I have no data but I think my crops are better after plowing. Been using cover crops for most of my life (if you are as old as I am, it used to be called plowdown, frost seeded wheat to clover). I always plant a cover crop after wheat.
