Seriously, though, run some rough math. NE Iowa is a garden spot. We went up to okoboji on Aug 15-18 - I never seen it look so good and uniform the whole trip. Northern half is probably 1.3 x what we do in the south. Right or wrong, I think fungicide use was down to maybe 60%.

Southern rust stole an ABSOLUTE BUNCH OF TOP END BUSHELS….. but I think the ear counts “trump” some of stolen losses to rust. Other losses to nitrogen /mineralized nitrogen leaching. August 1 - we had the most amazing crop from top to bottom and east to west. Yes- there were a few exceptions/holes. But, we were probably starting at 220+ on aug 1.

Again, the states ultimate yield will Hinge on harvest weather. We can’t tolerate much wind with poor stalks. We are 1 - 60 mph wind away from corn reels in more fields than we realize

When disease is like it is this year, you don't need a reel, because there is no long stalks because the stalks disintegrate, and they're 2-3 foot tall.
My friend has been telling me how good it looks going to Okoboji. For whatever reason our corn is staying green here, if it was fungicided, but east of here, all the fields are brown.
