Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Not that this would help you now but with my Ag Leader system I can give each AB line a name of my own choosing. I find that a descriptive name and maybe even the year or operation coded into the name can be very helpful in the future.
Another trick I've used is to make AB lines that are the property lines or field edges and save them with each field. I can then bring them up later and shift over from the "base" line accordingly based on the implement I'm using.
I've even shared these lines with neighbors who have Ag Leader guidance. I shift the base line "my direction" and they shift the base line "their direction". That way the our rows are parallel.
We have one neighbor whose field was close but not perfectly parallel on his North and South field edges. His North edge was our South edge. He started planting from his South edge and worked his way to his North edge. His last pass and outside row was very close but did not perfectly line up with the property line. He suggested that we plant based on his AB line so our first pass would be perfectly parallel with his. This meant that our edges matched up nicely and did not have any odd or fill in partial rows. In essence he "donated" a small bit of his field area to us to avoid the inevitable weed problem with odd or partial rows. The area we gained was one row part way across the field. This was a bit unusual that it worked out so close to being an exact match.
He is organic and we are not. He cultivates and agreed to cultivate the first pass of our field since we are both on 30" rows. We stay that distance away from his field with our sprayer. This works out quite nicely.
