Subject: RE: The myth of no-till

Northeastern Pa.
We use full strength Acuron pre with Atrazine. We've gone post with everything over the years like Spirit, Peak, Atrazine etc. with Gly- to kill any bur up. I knew this farm had the bur issue because we custom harvested it. I thought the problem being out of control was because he was light on using a residual. He had alfalfa in his corn bean rotation. I did carry some out of his fields with the combine and got it on one hill farm but we could always keep it under control. It would never crawl over the top and take the corn down there. I don't like losing the battle but absolutely hate having the seed in our shelled corn going to the buyer. I've had help from several agronomist and seed reps. but no success. This was such a dry summer/ fall I thought we might be spared the bur but it didn't matter. If some genius could find a use for the burr I sure wouldn't have to buy seed to grow it.
