Subject: The myth of no-till

Northeastern Pa.
There has been a bur-cucumber disaster on one farm we rent along the Susquehanna River forever. I was told no-till it and you won't have it as bad as with tillage. Well that's a myth. No difference no-till vs any type of tillage. We've thrown the herbicide book at the bur since we've been farming this ground. I thought rotating with beans would help. It didn't but you can post spray the beans multiple times and get a clean bean field. The next year I no-till corn in the bean stubble and pre-spray and post spray and you think we got the bur then when the corn is too tall for a 3rd post it shows up taking the corn down in spots. Oh well glad you guys out west don't have it or there would be a herbicide to fry it before it germinates.
