East Central South Dakota | To be honest, I just don't have an honest opinion, because of the complexity of the issue. My weak attempt to answer your question, would be if our trading partners are trading in good faith and are giving us access to their markets without artificial trade barriers and tariffs on our products going in---I would say the world trade would be better without them. Some critical industries like pharmaceuticals for example, need to be produced within our shores, which leads to protectionism of some goods that other countries will want to retaliate on and then we retaliate back and here we go down a slippery slope. It is a very complicated issue that makes people behave like they are on a playground in a hurry. We had a lot of folks not trading in good faith and we let to many critical industries go offshore for a few cents in a piece of product. |
