I’m not a fan of it - but they could pay for carbon sequestration seeded to native prairie. That’d use stuff in the tax code already under the guise of climate change. What you’re proposing isn’t a bad idea. I still struggle with how tariffs really affect the whole world - in my mind it just moves demand - china buys from SA but other SA customers come here.
